I've thought about using Kepler and Sonoff S31 smart plugs for energy monitoring. I believe that industrial control systems are often too expensive and complicated for small data centers. I currently use two CyberPower CP1500PFCLCDuninterruptible power supplies (UPS) to protect my equipment from power surges and brownouts by regulating the voltage of the electricity supplied to them. I was careful to choose a UPS model that produces a pure sine wave.
Planning a monolithic repository for applications with static code analysis tooling. I utilize Git with extensions like Scalar and Large File Storage (LFS). For hosting, I like Forgejo and Codeberg, while Opengrep is my tool of choice for code analysis.
Architecting CI/CD pipelines capable of monorepo scale using tools like Nix, Bazel, and Argo.
Securing my cloud with Wazuh SIEM/XDR, Suricata, and ClamAV. I also use additional YARA rules for ring 3/userland protection and study Tetragon policies for ring 0/kernel security. (Fun fact: the ring paradigm originates from Multics). For physical security, I use a micro-cut shredder and a Proton 1100 degaussing wand for degaussing storage media. I also use ShredOS for secure data wiping.
